Chef and restaurateur David Thompson, renowned as a world authority on Thai food, is delighted to confirm that he is bringing his Thai street food restaurant, Long Chim, to Sydney.
Long Chim Sydney will follow on from the success of its Perth and Singapore ventures. The doors are expected to open mid-August this year, and will be the first time for over 15 years that David Thompson has operated a restaurant in his hometown. Located in a former storage basement underneath 10-14 Martin Place, Long Chim’s entrance is on Angel Place in Sydney’s CBD.
Long Chim means to ‘come and taste’. The restaurant’s fast service style combines with the sounds of clashing woks and the beating rhythm of the pestle as it hits the mortar. It’s a kind of music that leads you to laugh a little louder, stay a little longer and try something new each time.
Says David, “At Long Chim we want to capture all the excitement and tastes of the streets of Bangkok. ”
