Some of the world’s top chefs, food writers, critics and tastemakers will open up their ‘little black books’ and give unprecedented access into their favourite places locally and internationally, on brand new Australian food podcast, The Pass (http://www.thepass.com.au/about).
Launching today, The Pass is an insider’s guide to the best food, restaurants and eating experiences, locally and around the world, chosen by the experts themselves. Some of the country’s top chefs and food personalities sharing their ‘little black books’ include Kylie Kwong (Billy Kwong), Matt Moran (celebrity chef and restaurateur), Colin Fassnidge (chef and restaurateur 4Fourteen, and My Kitchen Rules judge), Sarah Wilson (author, I Quit Sugar), wine personality, Mike Bennie, Dave Pynt (Burnt Ends, Singapore) and UK food instagram sensation, ClerkenwellBoy.
Hosted by respected broadcaster and food personality Magdalena Roze, each episode of The Pass takes the listener on a chef’s journey to their favourite places and gives insight into the food they love. From date night restaurants to dive bars, ingredients they can’t live without, and the meal they would buy with their last $5, The Pass gives listeners exclusive access to the food experts’ wisdom.
Honest and engaging, each episode of The Pass is under 20 minutes so it’s easily consumed on the go. Episodes are recorded all over Australia, on the streets and inside the country’s best food destinations, and include a ‘reveal’ of a secret destination the guest takes Magdalena to.
As an added extra in each episode, Magdalena conducts a short two-minute interview, ‘Under the Grill’, with another well-known food identity. This segment includes questions like, ‘What is your death-row meal’, ‘what is the ultimate food destination’, ‘what is the most challenging thing you've eaten’, and ‘what ingredient can’t you live without.’
Mags says, “We can’t wait for these first episodes to go to air so that our listeners can hear some of the world’s top chef’s truly amazing tips and stories.
It’s been an incredibly exciting process recording with the chefs- we can’t believe what they have revealed about themselves through the food they love to eat, and the places we visit with them for the interview. They share personal stories, and tips that not even the most die-hard food lovers would know about.”
