LUNAR NEW YEAR AT BODHI: CELEBRATE A VEGAN YEAR OF THE PIG
Monday 14 January 2019
Bodhi Restaurant Bar, one of Sydney’s most established vegan restaurants, will ring in the ‘Year of the Pig’ in February with a dedicated specials menu and a one-off celebration.
Throughout the month of February, diners will be able to enjoy Bodhi’s pan-Asian inspired vegan dishes, with Lunar New Year specials aiming to ensure a prosperous life. There are two set menus on offer: one for the lunch yum cha ($35), featuring special snow pea dumplings. The other for the evening ($60), which includes a traditional Lunar Near Year dish - longevity noodles – the symbol of a long and prosperous life.
On 5 February, Bodhi will host a Lunar New Year dinner with traditional lion performers alongside a set menu $60 where guests can choose between a mixed basket of vegan dumplings, or crispy ‘chicken’ skewers, roasted teriyaki cauliflower salad or Bodhi’s Peking ‘duck’. Bodhi will donate $5 from every set menu to the Little Oak Sanctuary, in support of rescued farmed animals. Bookings for this evening are essential.
Bodhi owner Heaven Leigh says “Celebrating the Lunar New Year is a special tradition in my family, a time to reflect on the year past, and set intentions for the one ahead. It’s a time to come together with the ones we love and enjoy delicious food. At Bodhi, we are inspired by traditional Asian dishes that are good for the soul and honour our heritage and values. One of my favourite dishes is the longevity noodles, it is tradition in my family to make a wish for new year while slurping these down. I am so pleased that Bodhi will continue supporting the Little Oak Sanctuary, as it is the year of the pig, I wanted to support these intelligent animals.”
