Venues open for the long weekend
With the summer long weekend just around the corner, these Sydney hotspots have all your coffees, cocktails and long lunches sorted - even for those still wanting to splurge on Monday.
Banksii Vermouth Bar & Bistro
Spend your weekend sitting by the harbour enjoying light fresh dishes inspired by the Mediterranean at Sydney’s first restaurant and bar dedicated to vermouth. Banksii’s summer menu showcases a selection of Australia’s best seafood including pan-seared Hiramasa kingfish, Mussels cooked in white vermouth, Ocean trout tartare, and their signature Grilled turmeric prawns. They’re all perfectly paired with a summer cocktail or a glass of vermouth on ice. Banksii is open on Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th and closed on Monday 28th.
With three spacious levels, all with water views, Barangaroo House is the perfect place to celebrate three days of freedom. The relaxed House Bar spills out onto the waterfront on the ground floor. One level up, Bea offers contemporary Australian cuisine and the top level is home to Smoke, Sydney’s hottest rooftop bar. Open all long weekend, including Monday, Barangaroo House can cater for any need - whether it be a rooftop, relaxed waterside drink or an elevated dining experience.
Bentley Group’s waterside venue, Cirrus, is where the best of Sydney’s seafood and waterside dining combines to make the ultimate experience. Enjoy fresh, sustainably-caught grilled rock lobster, WA marron and Hiramasa kingfish while sipping on a wine and watching the ferries and boats pass by. Cirrus will be open all long weekend, including Monday, providing the perfect seafood fix.
Don’t Tell Aunty
Don’t Tell Aunty is a good time place, nestled in Sydney’s Surry Hills where the eclectic space is as theatrical as Jessi Singh’s unique take on Indian food. Surrounded by bright pink walls, blue velvet banquettes and pumping 70s Bollywood tunes, it will be hard not to get into the long weekend spirit. Enjoy curry mussels, Indo-Chinese style cauliflower, yoghurt kebabs and all the naan bread you can take.
Don’t Tell Aunty will be open Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th for their $25 All-You-Can-Eat dinners and closed Monday 28th.
North Bondi Fish
With the backdrop of one of the world’s most iconic beaches, North Bondi Fish’s enviable location makes a casually glamorous place to celebrate great Australian produce – and the January long weekend – aperitif in hand, of course. North Bondi Fish will be open all long weekend, including Monday, giving you no excuses to enjoy all the best that Bondi has to offer - gorgeous ocean views and delicious seafood.
Three Blue Ducks Bronte
Three Blue Duck’s waterside Bronte venue embraces simple, honest food. Enjoy a delicious Ducks breakfast of avocado toast or steel cut buckwheat & oat bircher, before strolling down to Bronte beach to enjoy your long weekend, the local way. Open all long weekend; breakfast/lunch Saturday-Monday and dinner on Saturday.
